Respoke is a high-end luxury footwear brand best known for creating one-of-a-kind espadrilles and sneakers by upcycling authenticated vintage designer silk scarves.  The Concept: Driven by Tonello’s love for Hermès silk scarves, the duo launched the brand to transform dormant, beautiful textiles into unique, wearable resort footwear.   The Materials: Each upper is sourced from pre-owned, vintage, or discontinued silk scarves from premier fashion houses like Hermès, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Emilio Pucci, and Salvatore Ferragamo. Because each pair is cut from a different section of a single scarf, no two shoes are completely identical.   Handcrafted Production  Origin: Every pair is handcrafted in multi-generational artisan workshops located in La Rioja, Spain, which is the traditional birthplace of the espadrille.   Construction: The production prioritizes eco-friendly, natural materials. The soles are made from natural jute twine and raw rubber, heat-emulsified together rather than glued. The silk uppers are manually blanket-stitched directly to the jute rope base.   Price Point: Because of the high-end material sourcing, limited availability, and intensive manual production, classic adult espadrilles typically retail for around $575.
